Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) an integrative therapeutic approach intended to relieve and treat symptoms and challenges brought about by trauma and post traumatic stress. EMDR therapy sessions are done following a specific sequence of treatment phases, and practitioners use bilateral stimulation, such as eye movements and hand tapping, to help the client process unresolved memories and emotions from adverse experiences.
Sessions in EMDR will be led by our practitioner Magdalena (English & Polish) qualified EMDR trauma therapist. Magdalena holds an EMDR Therapy Diploma, in addition to her Master’s Degree in Psychology and Cultural Anthropology. EMDR helps facilitate emotional and psychological healing in individuals who are experiencing symptoms such as anxiety, distress, low self-esteem, and feelings of helplessness caused by a traumatic or disturbing episode in their lives.
EMDR therapy taps into the brain’s natural capacity to heal by removing obstacles that impede its healing process (e.g., distressing memories or feelings from a traumatic experience). Because of its proven effectiveness, EMDR is globally recognized by organizations such as the American Psychiatric Association, World Health Organization and the US Department of Defense.
EMDR can be used along with other therapy methods. Treatment may cover 8 to 12 sessions.

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) is a short-term form of therapy (6 sessions) that focuses on adult relationships and bonding. The therapist and clients look at patterns in the relationship and take steps to create a more secure bond and develop more trust to move the relationship in a healthier, more positive direction.
The therapist observes the dynamics between clients in the therapy setting, ties this behavior to the dynamics in their home lives, and helps direct new conversations and interactions based on more honest feelings. To accomplish this, your therapist will encourage you to look at your current emotional issues and then help you discover feelings and emotions that you may not realize you have. Suitable for couples struggling with ‘arguing fair’, lack of emotional connection and communication, feelings of unfaithfulness, lack of direction in the relationship, not being heard or understood & feelings of speaking a different ‘love language”.
You may discover deeper past feelings and vulnerabilities that are blocked by the more immediate emotions you display in your current relationship.
You will learn to express these emotions in a way that will help you connect, rather than disconnect with your partner or family member.
You will learn new ways to listen and stay attuned to another’s emotions and discover more productive ways to respond to emotional situations.
